Why am I excited about this?
I’ve mentioned on the podcast previously that I’m a big fan of Wallace and Gromit (and Morph…), so the fact that this collection is coming out is pretty exciting to my Christmas list. (Although there is a challenge: will my wife choose this for me, or the new Box of Delights 40th anniversary edition?)
So, what’s the big deal with this collection? Well…

- Classic stories: I remember the first time I saw The Wrong Trousers, and realised I had been very unfair on A Grand Day Out. The scripts, the voices, the animation. the visual gags – it’s all absolutely marvellous. To think that two of the most iconic characters in animation history are British (and quintessentially northern, ‘appen) is something to be proud of.
