The Sarah Jane Adventures Hits Britbox

The Sarah Jane Adventures on Britbox

It’s been a few years since it was available int he wild, but The Sarah Jane Adventures is finally available to watch online thanks to Britbox.

Joining a vast library of sci-fi shows for kids and adults alike, all five series of the Elisabeth Sladen-starring show are there for your enjoyment. Lacking any sort of fanfare, The Sarah Jane Adventures was spotted on Britbox this week, nearly 10 years since the show ended in October 2011 following Elisabeth Sladen’s death.

The show ran for 5 seasons with 53 episodes in total, kicking off with Invasion of the Bane and ending on The Man Who Never Was. While various writers contributed, the majority were scripted by Phil Ford or Gareth Roberts. Also starring in the show were Alexander Armstrong as the voice of super computer Mr Smith, and young actors Yasmin Paige (Maria Jackson) Tommy Knight (Luke), and Daniel Anthony (Clyde Langer). Anjli Mohindra joined in Series 2 as Rani Chandra. Like Doctor Who, the show benefits from strong casting in regular and guest roles.

The Sarah Jane Adventures joins classic Doctor Who (1963-1996) on Britbox, along with Blake’s 7, The Avengers, Sapphire and Steel, Primeval, most of the Gerry Anderson shows, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Prisoner, The Persuaders!, Rentaghost, Worzel Gummidge, The Demon Headmaster… the list is pretty endless, to be honest.

Britbox costs £5.99 per month to subcribe, something any fan of classic British TV shows (particularly sci-fi classics) should do.
