We’re back in 2017 — amazingly, our 10th anniversary — and we bear sad tidings: you deserve better Doctor Who. Sure, The Return of Doctor Mysterio isn’t bad, but neither is it good. Christian Cawley, Brian Terranova and James McLean are on hand to disseminate a Doctor Who reality bomb in true Dalek style, and hopefully just remind you what the show needs to be for it’s long-term survival: in short, popular.

Pretty pathetic. Fanboys with a podcast who think their opinions matter, fanboys who don’t have the pressure of trying to write a highly-anticipated, highly-rated television and have great pressure on trying to please the obviously unpleasable. I see no difference between you and the trolls on IMDB who constantly complain about how bad Doctor Who has become.
For instance, your complaints about Nardole in the upcoming series are like complaints about Donna becoming a companion after The Runaway Bride – you don’t know how it’ll eventually play out. And look how great those episodes with Donna as companion actually were! Also, who’s really thinking, “this is a retread of Batman Forever”? Clearly they’re paying homage to – and tweaking ideas from – Superman and other superheroes. All your complaints about this episode are subjective and superficial. It seems every point that you brought up is extremely picky (“leaving the baby alone doesn’t have any repercussions”). And you’re making a judgement based on how your five year old reacted to the episode??? I could go on, but what it comes down to is that you’re just spouting opinions, not anything that actually matters. You’re clearly delusional if you only give it a “1.” Do you understand storytelling at all? Have you written a narrative story ever? Do you understand the difference between your opinion and reality?? Do you understand that The Return of Doctor Mysterio being a “bad” episode is your opinion. It wasn’t the best, but it certainly wasn’t as “bad” as you make it out to be.
And for the record, I’m not someone who says, “Oh, Doctor Who is great! Every episode is great!” I don’t always like Doctor Who. There are some episodes that are really bad, but I don’t feel the need to pick apart all of the inconsistencies and supposed weaknesses then claim that my opinions are facts. This is the mistake that all arrogant Doctor Who “fans” seem to make. Guess what, your opinions don’t matter. You’re not the ones who have to put this show on the air.
Maybe you should take your own advice and go watch other stuff if you don’t like what you’re seeing in Doctor Who.
This is by far my favourite comment to any of our podcasts, ever!
Why?
Because the commenter has clearly not paid any attention to what we’re actually saying; rather some opinions have triggered a response base don what he *thinks* we said.
But it’s the sheer length of it that amuses.
