Since the Russell T Davies/Julie Gardner-lead Doctor Who game genre TV a much-needed revival in 2005, producers on both sides of the Atlantic have taken a new interest in genre TV. While the UK had suffered a hiatus of such TV until the “Doctor Who effect” struck, in the US, the new wave of shows seemed to push the bar.

Twelve years later, we’re enjoying a golden age of TV drama, much of which is sci-fi and fantasy, but with some hybrids in there. But which have been your favorites? Christian Cawley and James McLean discuss some of your top choices, and make a few decisions about their own.
