Century 21 Films has saved a collection of DVD extras and unseen documentaries and features from Network DVD’s bankruptcy case.
Great news for anyone who loves classic telly! Remember Network DVD? Sadly, they went bankrupt in 2023, and that left a big question mark hanging over their amazing collection of DVD extras. Think documentaries, interviews, and commentaries for shows like The Persuaders, Due South, and Upstairs Downstairs – all that good stuff! And especially, fans of Gerry Anderson’s “Supermarionation” were worried.
But hold on to your hats, because Century 21 Films has come to the rescue! They’ve announced a brilliant deal with the folks handling Network’s bankruptcy. Not only have they grabbed the rights to their own fantastic Filmed in Supermarionation documentary (all about how those amazing Supermarionation shows were made), but they’ve also scooped up a huge chunk of Network’s DVD extras!
This means hours and hours of precious material, including chats with the people who made some of the most iconic shows ever. Century 21 Films is just as excited as we are and they’re promising to make this archive available again soon. Even better, they’ve hinted that there might be some previously unseen footage in there!
What will Century 21 Films do next?
We don’t know exactly how they’ll release it all yet – maybe popping the extras onto existing DVDs, re-releasing some classics, or even putting stuff up on YouTube – but the important thing is, it’s safe!
So, if you’re a fan of classic TV, especially the Gerry Anderson universe, you can breathe a sigh of relief. This is fantastic news and means all those brilliant extras won’t be lost forever. A big thank you to Century 21 Films for saving the day!.
