Coming to PC and console in September 2021, The Edge of Reality is the latest attempt to produce a Doctor Who video game.
While different to the previous VR-based The Edge of Time, it can be considered a linear alternative to the earlier game from Maze Theory. Featuring the voices of Jodie Whittaker and David Tennant, the Doctors need your help to save reality in the new game, for PC and console.
The Edge of Reality boasts:
- A thrilling first-person adventure, with a ‘reality virus’ wreaking havoc across the universe, causing time glitches that distort the past, present, and future.
- An entirely new antagonist – The CyberReaper, an ominous foe with a terrifying purpose. More is set to be revealed about this.
- A new with multiple new environments for the player to explore, from a Cybership to the Chaosverse.
- New and expanded levels include new gameplay modes, such as puzzles, shooting, collecting and stealth.
Ian Hambleton, CEO of Maze Theory:
“With our partners at BBC Studios, we are giving Doctor Who fans and gamers an incredible new experience through space and time. The appearance of both the Thirteenth and Tenth Doctors is set to be an epic event. The ‘Chaosverse’ is a mind-blowing new concept, which brings a whole new dimension to the Doctor Who experience. This much anticipated console and PC launch follows the incredible success of the mobile game Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins and re-affirms our commitment to take players on the most unexpected and immersive narrative journeys.”
The Edge of Reality is slated to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC on 30th September 2021.
